HP Pay App - Wallet Load

Hi Friends,

hp pay app load wallet via credit card which card is having zero charges kindly share your experience about the rewards/CB for this transactions.

FYI my holding cards are SC Manhattan, HDFC Regalia, IndusInd Legend and ICICI Apay as well as LTF Coral.

Guys update as of 6th july 2024:
Recently, ICICI has disable fuel transactions on their fastags. DYOR before loading bulk amt in ICICI tags

You need to login to ICICI etoll website using your fastag customer ID and password. It will show up fuel enabled yes or no in one of the tag detail menu options

There was this period last year I suppose or early March of 2025. SBI gyftr gave 5% cashback on HP vouchers. I went and stocked it for 6 months using my sbi card, my fathers, my friends etc as each card had a limit.
For HP I guess validity is more. In shell’s case it’s only 6 months. 3 months for the code and 3 months for the balance once added to account.

Had the worst experience at an HP bunk yesterday.

- HP Pay app on Android: scanned the HP Pay QR, selected ICICI FASTag, but got “record not found.” Logged out/in and tried remapping—no luck.
- Switched to the DTP machine with FASTag Sale. Attendant first selected IDFC FASTag and couldn’t find my mobile. I took over, selected ICICI, and it found my account.
- Did a ₹500 test. After entering OTP, their device timed out due to low network, but ₹500 was still deducted from my FASTag.
- The bunk couldn’t see this ₹500 on their DTP machine. They tried multiple options and called seniors; after ~45 minutes they said settlements post after midnight, so they can’t confirm until then. They took my number and asked me to pay the rest via cash/card.
- I suggested a ₹50 test; meanwhile my FASTag balance was low, so I recharged ₹2,000 via Amazon Pay, which showed pending. I proceeded to pay the remaining amount by card; right after, the FASTag recharge reflected.
- Since I don’t cross many tolls, I asked them to refund the card payment and retry via FASTag Sale. They agreed: did a ₹50 test and then ₹2,500—both successful—and refunded my card payment in cash.
- Net result: ~50 minutes wasted for a ₹3,000 transaction, and the HP Pay app on Android still wouldn’t accept ICICI Fastag as payment option . I’ve used this method for a year without issues, but this made me question if it’s worth the effort.

We have all been in this situation and still we use these methods. Kindly don't get vexed, blame the effort or take it on you. The error you get might get fixed soon. I would suggest you to be patient. For time being, maybe switch to another bunk.
