TF Legend
Yes, it's easy to overlook how fortunate we are, especially when facing challenges. Many factors contribute to our well-being and opportunities, and reflecting on these can foster gratitude. While some argue that luck is a real force, others believe it's more about perspective and mindset.

Here's why we might not always realize our luck:
  • Perspective:
We often compare ourselves to those who seem to have more, overlooking our own advantages.

  • Focus on Negativity:
It's natural to dwell on difficulties, making it harder to appreciate the good things.

  • Routine and Familiarity:
Familiarity can breed a lack of awareness. We may take our comforts and opportunities for granted.
However, acknowledging our good fortune can be beneficial:
  • Increased Gratitude:
Recognizing our luck can foster a sense of gratitude, improving our overall well-being.

  • Resilience:
When facing adversity, remembering our past good fortune can provide strength and motivation.

  • Positive Mindset:
A positive outlook can lead to more opportunities and a greater sense of satisfaction.
Some ways to cultivate a greater sense of luck include:
  • Practicing Gratitude: Regularly acknowledging the good things in your life.

  • Shifting Perspective: Comparing yourself to those who are less fortunate can highlight your advantages.

  • Focusing on Opportunities: Being open to new possibilities and taking chances when they arise.

We are still alive, getting healthy good everyday, have unrestricted internet, family love, own home, safe environment and living in a country with no ongoing civil wars are the biggest luck we all have. You are top 20% lucky in the world if you have all these. Plus if you compare last 500 yrs, this century is also in top 10% lucky of all. So always be happy, satisfied and think/do good always.

Really positive !! Beautifully summarised the real essence of being...

Yes true facts…let’s all feel lucky

Many factors contribute to our well-being and opportunities,
My Perspectives
My views and perspectives based on my understanding of the universe around me (based on my reading of books, histories, scriptures, etc) are as under:-
  • There is no such thing as luck. Any set of circumstances, or numerous opportunities, or situations in life, et al are all the fruits of our own actions done in the past. All our actions are equivalent to seeds which will sprout sooner or later and those fruits will be termed as "good luck" if they are as per our likes and "bad luck" if these fruits are as per our dislikes. So, luck is nothing but manifestation of our previous actions which are only now bearing fruits.
  • No Coincidences. There are no coincidences in this universe - everything works as per the variables of man's actions. And man's actions over many years and decades have given birth to many whirlpools of cascading future events, that keep on manifesting every now and then.
  • Of Variables and Constants. For example, as I see it, in this universe there is a Karmic Equation with say 1000 variables - all are dynamic in nature. However, since we do not know all 1000 variables but merely a few (hard work, laziness, sincerity, procrastination, optimism, gratitude, selfishness, love, hate, violence, ahimsa, charity, sacrifice, etc etc), therefore, we, as mere mortals with limited lifespans, do not fully comprehend the workings of either this universe or this universal equation. And hence, we use words and phrases like luck, fate, destiny, etc to denote the outcomes (which we cannot fully comprehend how and why they have manifested in our lives) of our past actions manifesting now. These coincidences - like winning a lottery, sudden tragedy, etc - are no coincidences but merely manifestations of our past actions.
  • The Karmic Law. As per my understanding, the most important cosmic law is the Law of Karma which is the fountainhead of all other smaller bylaws and axioms. As I see it, this Law of Karma states that Present Circumstances (100%) = Previous Karma (80%) + Present Karma (10%). So, whatever we are today - our birth parents, location, family, siblings, physical features, brain, qualities, character, thought processes, etc. - is all a product of our past actions. So, our past actions decide our today. And our today's actions will decide our tomorrow. So, in a way we all control our future destinies, but have little or no say over our past and present destinies.
  • Today is the Harbinger of Tomorrow. Our decisions and actions of our yesteryears are our destinies today. In a similar vein, our decisions and actions today will decide our destinies and circumstances of tomorrow. How long will today's actions take to manifest is a matter of conjecture because there are too many variables in this Karmic equation and we know only a handful of them. Nevertheless, the bottom line remains - our decisions and actions today will shape our destinies of tomorrow.
  • God is Mutually Exclusive with Karma. If there is a God who intervenes in the working mechanisms of universe on a regular basis then there is no need for Karma. However, if there is Karmic Law, then God is non-interfering and just keeps on observing 99% of the time and intervenes only once in a while. Out of these two options, I logically prefer the latter wherein God is non-interfering mostly and lets His Karmic Laws run the universe. In both the cases, God and Karma are mutually exclusive.
There can be many views on these subjects. Even a 3-year-old child has a world view through which he understands the world around him (e.g. mama will scold, mom will give food and milk, papa will come in the evening, time to sleep, chocolates and ice creams are good, etc).

In a similar fashion, I too I have summarised my world view that helps me be comfortable in this world. These perspectives are therefore derived from my reading of my life events and other books and scriptures etc.

These perspectives may align with or maybe at variance with other people's perspectives. They are rather dynamic and do change if there is an impetus of any life changing life event which is beyond the ambit of the framework as erected above. In that case, I do refine my views and perspectives.

Pithily averred - My past actions decide who I am today; my today's actions will decide who I will be tomorrow.

Hope this makes for some light-hearted reading. 🙂

Well it's not the literally meaning, it was just saying the gratitude towards the nature, God or the Cosmic Power around us by which everything is in sync....

One more thing , - to keep audience engage instead of RAW spirituality or Vaidik Literature ...its a light version to understand and to share the thought process....

Yes of course.
I am indeed grateful to God for everything in my life that I have experienced thus far - parents, siblings, love, family, friends, career, money, happiness, sadness, the good, the bad and the ugly, etc.

Hoping for better pastures in life, while enjoying the present-day events and circumstances. 🙂
