Hi everyone! šŸ‘‹

I’ve been actively using the Money Manager app to track my personal finances, and I really appreciate its clean interface and offline-first features.

I believe, and I have seen other community posts where many people are using this app, so I thought it would be helpful to start a discussion around some real-life use cases.

I’ve come across a few real-life situations that are a bit tricky to record accurately, and I’d love to hear how you all handle them.

1ļøāƒ£ Refunds on Purchases

Let’s say I buy multiple items from Amazon and return one item.
  • How do you record a partial refund so your reports and categories still reflect the net amount correctly?

2ļøāƒ£ Loan EMI Payments

If you’ve taken a personal loan (not on a credit card),
  • How do you record the initial loan, the monthly EMI payments, and keep track of the balance?

3ļøāƒ£ Borrowing from a Friend

Suppose I borrow a certain amount and only pay interest (planning to repay the principal later):
  • How do you record this so the interest shows as an expense, and the loan account reflects actual payments?

4ļøāƒ£ EMI Purchase via Credit Card

If I purchase something using a credit card on EMI (like a phone over 6 months):
  • How do you record the initial purchase, and then track the monthly EMI payments, without inflating your total expense?

šŸ’¬ Would love to hear your methods, tips, or any creative solutions using categories, tags, transfers, or custom accounts. Let’s help each other use this great app more effectively!

Thanks in advance šŸ™
Looking forward to your insights 😊

Bro, we are Indians and we don't need app for tracking, we can track ourselves & also don't want personal financial data to be shared among these apps.
