Hi,

Not sure if a thread already exists on this topic but thought it will be useful to have knowledge of expiry period of different hotel points & air miles at one place. Recently my Vistara miles expired as I wasn’t aware that they were due to expire.

Vistara - 3 year
Air India - 3 year
Singapore Krisflyer - 3 years
United MileagePlus - No expiry
Turkish - 3 years

Marriot Bonvoy - Points expire if no qualifying activity for 24 months. Amex MR to MB is a qualifying activity as per my knowledge.

Others please add for more airlines and hotels

Thanks

Vistara miles can be extended after expiry by paying some amount

I emailed them, they haven’t give me any such option. In Vistara AFAIK you can extend miles which are going to expire in next 3 months, not already expired.

On related note, so many people taking Axis Vistara card due to offer. Hope they know miles will expire in 12 months!
Vistara itself is getting expired in 12 months 🤣

I re-checked, it was my mistake. Points expire in 3 years only. In my case there were points whose life was extended by one year due to covid last year and now they have expired.

I will edit the original post as well. Anyways point of this thread was to be aware of expiry of various hotel & airline loyalty programs and not just Vistara.

What's strange is that many of the Indian/Asian programs have a fixed expiry date that doesn't get reset on activity unlike most US programs that keep extending validity as long as there is activity. In fact, I can't think of a single US based program that has a fixed validity date that can't be extended on activity...

How does vistara CV points or other airlines miles expiry work?

Say if it is expiring next month, can I book tickets for anytime post next month say in December? Or travel date also has to be within expiry period?

I saw this restriction on travel date on vistara flight vouchers, so not sure if same is applicable with airmiles too.
