Help needed - CIBIL hit (Axis Bank)

Hi,

I have a credit card with Axis Bank which had a due of ₹0.9 last month. I tried paying the same through 3rd party apps like navi, cred, innopay but it declined payment stating that "the bank doesn't accept payment less than ₹1". So, I tried paying ₹1 but it was also declined stating that "you cannot pay more than the outstanding amount" (typical bbps thing).

So, I simply ignored, because it was 0.9 only and thought it would be counted in rounding off. Today, i received a mail and sms from bank stating that your overdue has been reported to the credit information companies.

I called customer care for help, who provided me a direct upi id for making payment and I made payment of ₹1 which has also been recognised by bank (received a sms). I asked to take a request for reversal of reporting done on CIBIL as it wasn't my fault tbh, but he said he doesn't have any mechanism for taking such requests.

PS: I have had a credit history for 15 years with Nil overdues and don't want to ruin my CIBIL because of ₹0.9 non-payment. I'm thinking of escalating to PNO and hope they reverse it.

I would like to know your opinion/suggestions. Thanks in advance. Due date was July 10 and I have finally been able to make payment today.

Present status -
Post the payment of ₹1 as instructed by customer care after 15 days from due date (first time I got to know that amount has been reported as overdue) via UPI.

I immediately mailed to PNO directly citing all the stuff including CIBIL report showcasing reporting of overdue and asked them to remove the reporting as an exception basis prior relationship/goodwill gesture along with amount being minimal & ofcourse BBPS issue.

PNO took around 20 days and boom the overdue reporting was removed completely. They even shared a new CIBIL report showcasing the changes made. I personally checked the score on multiple apps to be sure, and indeed it had been removed.

Surprise: The CIBIL had decreased from 792 to 732 and now got increased to 802 and the overall history became clean again!

I wanted to share this experience with everyone.

PS:
1. Keep in mind that even an amount due of ₹0.01 would be reported in CIBIL if not paid on time, so pay the dues always on time.
2. Whenever going to PNO for rectification in CIBIL, keep in mind that it's mandatory to provide CIBIL report.
3. UPI payment method for axis bank credit cards : cc.91<phone number><last 4 digits of card>@axisbank.

Happy reading strangers and thank you for all the suggestions!
