Hey guys,

I am looking for a new CC, earlier was thinking of getting Axis Magnus due to all the hype around it. But then figured that my monthly spends do not hit more than 1L ( maybe twice a year with insurance and NPS but not otherwise)

Currently using Regalia for most spends + ICICI Amazon pay CC.
Also have Kotak Privy signature which I only use when there are merchant discounts with kotak cards.

My monthly spends on average are -

Grocery (offline) - 10000
Restaurants offline - 10000
Online shopping - 5000
Travel- 5000
Utility Bills - 5000
Fuel - 7500

Rest 1.5L in Insurance and 50k NPS which can be done via CC.
And maybe an extra outstation trip here n there.

So, I do like Magnus but dont think it makes sense for me (Right?). Thus, I’m asking you guys to suggest some good cards.

Thanks

Your monthly expense is 42k. With flexibility for nps, insurance, (advance tax if applicable), holidays, you’ll be able to easily squeeze out five six months of monthly cap. Get it only if you can use the miles though. Else, AU bank LIT can be a very rewarding card for offline spends

Go for Axis Vistara Signature or SBI Vistara Prime. You'll get 7%-8% easily through milestone benefits. And the joining and annual fee is more than compensated by the complementary premium economy ticket. (For spends upto 4.5LPA)

Could also try for Axis Vistara Infinite. Returns can be upto 10-12%. Also offers good benefits on Eazydiner as well apart from business class tickets on milestone spends. (Preferred if spends more than 6LPA)

+100 on this - Vistara cards are a no brainer if there’s service in your route. Check out https://pointsnerd.in/maximize-vistara for some detailed analysis
Thanks. I thought about vistara cards too but they just have one flight from my city (so negligible service). Also the travel spends are average and they might not be every month. Although, yes monthly spends on CC will average around 40-45k.

Actually I have pending payments of Insurance and NPS in next 2 months. So was hoping to get a CC before that so that I can get some milestones. Will not get approved for Infinia/DCB since its been less than a year with HDFC for me.

Will magnus 1L monthly benefit count if I do 1L insurance payment at a go in first month ??

Hey Guys,

Quick update - Got my Axis Magnus 3 days back. Went with Magnus coz I figured I won’t be getting Infinia anytime soon since I’m pretty new to CC game and had regalia for less than an year. Also figured, will not get StanC Ultimate since I’m not salaried. And I don’t have Vistara service my city, so thats that. Thus, Magnus was the best bet to get a premium card.

Got Magnus via C2C and it was pretty straightforward, although it took 20 days to delivery.

Anyways, Thank you all for your inputs.
