Health Insurance via PolicyBazaar/Ditto vs HDFC

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to get a health insurance for my dad and mom. I did my research and shortlisted two providers HDFC and Care, however my dad is adamant on getting the policy from Bank itself rather any third party like ditto or policy bazaar. But I'm thinking if the claim gets rejected for any reason we'd have to go through the hassle of resolution. Hdfc bank agent claims they have a dedicated agent for us to settle this but I'm skeptical as they would be on the bank side rather the user side. But the PB guy said slow moving diseases need not be disclosed like kidney stones/knee pain stuff which made me skeptical about going forward with them.

If anyone had any experience from policy bazaar/ditto vs HDFC or anything, please enlighten me with any such claim acceptance/rejections.

Btw the quotation from PB: 47k, HDFC :56k, Ditto: 53k, both my parents have PED and the coverage wouldnt be an issue as my corp insurance of 11L covers it meanwhile.

So, basically u want to real-time experience (which depends on their policy, location, people they deal with it, time) which is uncertain and not useful until our own claim.

I went through bank/own website, never claimed but it was smooth so far (not sure what I have to mention because no claims made, so smooth not good word here).

How much is the coverage for the mentioned premiums?

via bank , it costs more always, to save few thousands, you should choose direct from insurer or trusted 3rd party like PB and ditto.
I had good experience with PB with star health in Kolkata (Big claim ~10L) and ICICI Lombard (company provided Medi-claim) in Jharkhand (20K claim).
PB puts extra efforts in claim as they have dedicated team. But most importantly, it depends only on the team you were dealing at the time.

I am also planning to take a health insurance policy for my family..

Thinking of choosing between Icici elevate va HDFC optima secure..

Looking for some feedback about Claims settlement with Icici vs HDFC - who is good ?

Icici elevate looks good on paper - really do they honor claims is a question.

Next question - buying via direct website or Ditto/policybazaar

Any agent who suggests to hide or not disclose the actual state before buying policy is not to be trusted in my experience. We learnt it the hard way. That may or may not extend to the company they work for though. Personally we bought it directly from the insurer and avoided any middleman but back then the concept of middleman was the agent working for the company who gave us the wrong advice anyway so why not directly purchase online through the company/insurer portal?

Hey Guys,

My parents have Star Health Insurance Family Optima Floater Plan --> I could see it's worst policy now.

Thinking of switching to Aditya Birla One Max plan as it covers what we need.

Quotations:
Paisa Bazaar --> 49K
Direct Website --> 50.3K
Gone Through Online Website Agent --> 54K

The thing is Paisa Bazaar have AmazonPay Wallet integrated but not there on Aditya Birla Insurance site. --> Means I can renew the policy as well via PolicyBazaar through AmazonPay Wallet.

So, I gave my conditions. Can someone please suggest which is better way to go ?
