HDFC Not Allowing me to Open an Account

Hello, I had an HDFC Regular savings account and closed it. But the customer ID is still active, and Whenever I tried top open an regular savings account online, the application submitted and ask me to visit the branch but branch says that they cannot open an regular savings account and tell me to open savings max account with 5lakh initial funding. Can Anyone help me how I open it?

Also tell me about Axis bank savings account for regular banking. Should I go for it or not ?

Is it the same branch? Closing and then Re-opening?
If yes then try opening online account with previous registered mobile number but select different branch. Preferably near your place (rural/semi urban)

Send an email about this directly to pno@hdfcbank.com and also mention the branch name. Pno ke email peye yeh bhi dhamki dalo ki account open nhi hua toh rbi ombudsman ko jayegi shikayat

Hi, it is not possible to open HDFC savings account online with existing customer id (from previous relationship).

Branch visit is required but the executive is asking for 5 lac funding with max variant to reach their target.

Just mail nodal officer that certain person (name) at branch with IFSC is not opening 10k variant and pushing for premium accounts.

Mention your mobile number, they'll call you for account opening.

I visited my nearest HDFC branch today to open a new DigiSave Youth Account. Branch staff told they can only open max account so I told him I already have max account then he informed me that a customer cannot open a second savings account unless it is a salary account. I knew this was a lie, since many people do have multiple savings accounts, so I pointed that out.

Then he told me that from August 1st, the bank has stopped opening all account types except HDFC Max Savings and higher variants in metro branches. Also, they suggested I could open another Max Savings account with a declaration, even though I already hold one. I don’t know how they can do it. I still don't believe anything he said was true.

Can someone please guide me to an alternate process to open a new DigiSave Youth Savings Account (since I’m also unable to do it online or via branch)?
