I'm a student. I'm a HDFC Preferred customer. I've HDFC Millennia, Swiggy and Neu. The limit is 1.98 L. I've held Millennia since January. I want the Regalia since there isn't much to Millennia that the Swiggy card isn't offering. Millennia is 4 months old, and min time between upgrades is 6 months. I usually spend 1L by the 5th week of every calendar qtr to get the Rs1000 GV and stop spending altogether. I've already hit 1L for this quarter.
My RM said to get Regalia without limit (min 3L) criteria, I've to spend heavily on this card. He asked to reach 3L spends in 3 months (Criteria is 3L in 6 months) so that he can ask the team for an upgrade with the limit criteria exception. If I do this, my effective return on Millennia goes down without milestones. Can someone verify if this will work, or is he just bluffing?
If he is, I'm spending on my other cards, including Swiggy or Amex, which give the same reward rate, if not better.
