HDFC card application Declined.

I have applied HDFC credit card for family member as first time borrower. His credit score is NH. Provided all necessary income proofs while applying.

All process was smooth. Biometric kyc within 2 days, physical verifications next day. But today card got declined.

Reason they gave is full adhar number is visible in ITR. This is not acceptable as per guidelines. They asked to send masked ITR to Chennai office.

I requested them to receive digitally on mail and they agreed politely. I sent it on mail and they acknowledged it.

Later at evening, i decided to sent physical documents to Chennai office as requested. So sent by courier also.

In evening I got SMS and Mail that card is declined. But status showing inprocess.

Have anyone faced similar situation.??

CC tracker is not implemented properly. When I applied in October 2022, it was showing in-process. Even after 3 years and having the card and actively using it, it still shows in process!

If you have received the SMS about the application rejection, it is rejected in my opinion.

Yes. Just checked. it's showing declined not rejected.

Mailed corrected document and also sent physical copy to Chennai office.

Should be reprocessed in next week.

They have acknowledged document on mail and gave expected timeline for final status also.

Don't have any kind of relationship. Bank transaction and ITR is strong enough to get any entry level card.

It all depends on bank & your luck. They can approve. They can deny also. No credit history or relationship with bank is -ve in this case

hmm. Went through many threads on diffrent platform but didn't find this kind of application experience earlier. I tried. Let's see how it goes.

My ICICI credit card application kep getting rejected then finally in December 2024 I started moving up the grievance ladder for reconsidering, after few emails an sharing income documents, my credit card was approved in January, 2025.

Mine is getting rejected everytime after entering profession as self employed. CC said on IVR that you have to apply through branch. online application is for only salaried.

No score at all. NH means not taken any credit product. In other way, First time borrower.

HDFC is liberal in CC approvals. Their process is 😑..
