Has Citi stopped taking new applications?

Applied for Rewards Card on 30 Dec 2022. Got application number and rejection mail on 2 Jan 2023. But there was no CIBIL hit.

So, I wonder if Citi has stopped taking new applications altogether?

Might be they have checked Experian score and not cibil

Whatever Credit Rating agency they are using, your application should be visible everywhere.

Not sure about this
My Experian credit enquiries are different than my Cibil credit enquiries

In Experian it shows last 12 months there has 6 enquiries and Cibil shows 11

Citi checks cibil in last step. Before that they check other things like number of Citi cards, last application date, location etc and then reject beforehand.

Axis is just opposite. I have about 10 enquiries from axis. And some of them are for personal loan, which I don't even apply.

No documents were even asked. And I have CIBIL of 775, and Experian of 785. So, I am certain tht is is not due to credit scores.

My card was declined even before a Credit score hit. No documents were collected or no VkYC

That's what I told. Rejected in one of the preliminary checks. They will send you reason in mail.
