While most banks are busy excluding utility bill payments from their credit card rewards programs, BOB Cards has made a bold move!
Starting 1st July 2025, you can earn reward points even on utility bill payments using BOB Cards.
💡 Utility bill payments (MCC 4900) such as electricity, gas, water, etc., will now earn core reward points and surprisingly, there’s no maximum cap on this!
Although the core reward rate on most BOB cards is relatively low, this is still a very positive move.

Other Changes:
- Minimum Reward Points for Redemption:
Effective 1st July 2025, redemption against statement balance will require a minimum of 1,000 points, applicable across all BOB credit card variants.
Applicable Only to Snapdeal BOB Card:
- Auto-redemption of reward points will be discontinued.
Going forward, cardholders must manually redeem points via the BOBCARD Portal or Mobile App.
