Government payments:- business/commercial transactions

I got a confirmed statement from EVP Credit Cards - Axis Bank that any government transactions are treated as commercial and business transactions,and even when they are not providing rewards, they can still block credit cards for even personal income tax payments since they are commercial transaction activity

Eh? Then they have to mention this in their T&C. Lord Axis making up rules as and when they please and then public has to pay for it.

Ohhh... was going to use my Axis VI card tomorrow for advance tax payment.... should i avoid it???

That is weird to say the least. By no stretch of imagination can income tax payments be classified as commercial/business. That EVP needs to have his head examined

The Axis T&C clearly defines a commercial transaction as an expense which results in a financial benefit to you. Tax payment does not result in a financial benefit for you
