Getting Emerald Private Metal Based on Salary

Corporates have tie-ups with banks like ICICI, HDFC allowing more privileges like higher tier of salary account, best forex rates, lower eligibility for CCs etc.

In my case, I got an invitation for EPM from my corporate RM on my personal mail, in a month of opening my salary account with them. I didn't open for CC though, just got great forex rate and I had good amount of USDs to transfer.

Don't think they invite now. This was a bit before iShop launch.

I am being politely requested to open salary account with ICICI (they are not forcing it), so I am going with it. I'm opening the account with a guarantee for EPM. Even before applying for account, RM took my salary and other details, got my eligibility checked for EPM and confirmed that I'd be getting the card. The account got activated today, and by 1st or 2nd, he'd get the approval for EPM. Let's see.

In this scenario.. i will open salary account.. and close it after getting EPM if I dont want to shift my salary to ICICI..
Now person who helped is asking to transfer the salary account to ICICI.

I got EPM in july with 2.85 LPM salary.

No salary account shifting or demat account opening was asked.

My salary account is with some other bank and icici person didn't ask to move salary account as well

For me also same scenario with 2.75 LPM

That's some wishful thinking.

People are willing to open FDs and take loans for this card (similar thing can be said for Infinia too) after iShop launch. It wasn't being offered LTF even before iShop was launched.

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to check if anyone got EPM approved based on the salary? Please help me with the criteria. I already hold ICICI Times Black, HDFC Infinia, Axis Atlas, and a few other with combined limit of over 70 LPA. Used to hold Axis Reserve as well but closed after devaluation. I have Burgundy salary account with Axis.

Just want to confirm that 3 LPM is the only criteria to get this card. Many RMs are not willing to get approvals due to reasons best know to them. I recently (a few weeks ago) thought of getting this card and reached out to my corporate RM. He took the request based on my salary account with ICICI and application was logged in next day. I just had to provide OTP and they pulled all the details. The approvals were in place in 2 days and I received the card 5 days after that.

I have a long and good relationship with bank but RM clearly mentioned that 3 LPM salary is enough to get this card.
