Fun question: has anyone ever had their card swiped by imprinter ?

Yes, some 15 years ago in London, the cabbie who picked me up in Airport took out the imprinter and literally swiped the card when I told I need to pay by card. I was shocked and curious as that is the first and only time I have seen that. Otherwise, they generally have IVR number to punch in card details for payment.

ha dekha tha, smjh na aaya 🤣 🤣
Pehele card rakhte the jisme Name, expiry emboss hoti thi. Phir us pe carbon paper wala voucher (slip rakhte the). Phir wohandle ko uske upar move karte the jise card ke details voucher pe imprint ho jata and then they gave you that slip. At the end of your shopping you presented that slip and they wrote the total and you signed it. A copy was also given to you 🙂

Woh signature match karte the on voucher, with signature behind card. Isliye card ke piche signature karne ki pratha start hui. That is why it is written that card not valid without signature 😀
