Just some advice. Don't rely entirely on forex cards, always have backup payment methods. Most banks are notorious for technical issues or outages. Either you won't be able to reload/topup or the transactions might bounce if they are having system issues. Some might even bounce on grounds of "security" depending on each bank.
It has happened to me multiple times even with big banks like Axis where I get transaction declined due to insufficient funds or even arbitrary issues like once I got declined a payment in Taco Bell due to "security reasons", needless to say the card was active, had funds and was in good standing.
Just a couple of weeks back quite a few people I was traveling with got into a situation where the topup/reload portal for a forex card wasn't working for a couple of days (I think HDFC) and they didn't have cash or any other payment method setup for usage overseas.
