You can purchase/extend membership using added voucher. It does extend on top of existing active membership.

Are you sure? I think existing prime members can purchase prime at 1499 membership with 500 cashback. I can't find anywhere written that this coupon is for new prime members only.

You need to renew it manually. I don't think it will renew automatically from added vouchers.

I don't know but you can check, go to manage my membership page and check there which renewal options are coming. I have 1499 plan and I do see 1499 or 599 for 3 months options to renew. Otherwise the option is to let current membership expire and then renew with 1499.

Yes but it will cancel your current subscription.

The other thing you can do is add 1499 prime balance to your account now. So that you can take the subscription when current expires.

Great question buddy.

Someone shared the whatsapp photo, he said we can buy the membership for other account too whereas the voucher in 1st account.

Not sure if amazon allows it.
