Does cancelling Award air ticket make it available for others?

Hi,

If I cancel an award ticket, does it become available for others as award ticket, or can the airline change remove it from award tickets and change it to revenue one. I have had a conversation with Vistara and they said that could be the case. Any one has any other experience?

No
Award tickets are always fixed in a flight.
In case they are going unsold they might convert it into revenue tickets

dont know about international ones
but vistara has 2 biz
4 premium eco
8 eco tixs

Whenever I try to book vistara using CV points:
Case1: tried with 1 pax, shows available
Case2: tried with 2pax, shows available
Case3: tried with 4 pax, not available.

Tried for multiple dates, same output.
Tried above with eco and premium eco. Same output.

Do they mention anywhere about how many seats are available? 🤞🏼

Should I book 2pax first and then try 2pax again?
Looks risky though?

well if it isnt showing for 4 pax means that there arent award seats available for 4 pax on a single flight

i have mentioned the award tickets on each flight
try calling customer care and booking

I am also getting availability for 2 only. When I try to book for 3, shows not available. I think only 2 award seats in total per flight available irrespective of class for Vistara.

Called Vistara custcare, they can tell u how many award seats available for a particular day.
For an odd day in October, 9 award seats were available, 1 business, 4 premium eco and 4 eco.

But again, when i tried to put 4 people and book for that day, i wasn’t able to book. I guess 2pax per time will get job done.🤞🏼
