how this helps!!

Good move. Anyone with someone else's UPI id could scam/spam with collect requests.
Got one apple related collect request recently. Someone with my phone number used it to do that. Obviously I declined.

This will put a stop to it. No real use of collect requests. You can just have a UPI qr or id if you want to get paid.

How this works. Please explain in any example @Abhishek012

Looks like NPCI finally pulling the plug on P2P collect. Not a surprise, hardly anyone using it for genuine transfers now. Most shifted to regular UPI send/QR scan long back. Only some used it for CC bill payments or split requests, so this might impact those flows. Guess from Oct 2025, we’ll have to stick to normal P2P transfer options👍

Will that impact UPI based Emi mandate?

Does this affect the Uber upi payment? I like the option where the ride ends and payment can be done anytime after that.

Edit: nvm it's only for p2p transaction

It was a good feature, but not made for India...
Scamsters know how to ruin everything that is good 🙁
No crime is exclusive to India. It is just that by virtue of being the most populous country in the world, not only we have more criminals but the criminals also have more victims to scam. Had this feature existed in any of the Western countries then it would have been abused by scamsters there too.

I am sure the brains at NPCI would have thought of every possible way to keep this feature and minimize the fraud. Withdrawing the feature would have been their last option. For the common public the workaround is simple - just call that person and ask them to send you money or send them a message from your UPI app itself.

I wish that was correct but I'd disagree...

More population isn't equal to more criminals directly
If it's because the ratio increases proportionately hence the number is higher?
Even then it's incorrect, rate of crime and such activities in percentage to total population is much higher than any other nation
There is a reason most scam centers are based out of India too
That's the identity of our nation, people have made it that
Whatever happens most is what is generalised

Sure there is crime at other places but a crime happening there is generally a special occurance
Whereas one not happening here would be extra ordinary for any given day

CC bill payment is P2M UPI.
