Just wondering what are the credit card application waiting times? I have applied for an HDFC Millenia, but the application is still under process for nearly 3-4 days now with a horrible IVR service where I cannot connect to a human and not a bot. ICICI is extremely professional and fast with their applications with a waiting of around a day or two at max same thing for AXIS. As for SBI well, its SBI so you already know what you are getting into.

What are the minimum waiting times for your card and what should we be aware off? Not only that when do we give up on an application? Let me know your thoughts but definitely do let me know on HDFC as it still says INPROCESS.

Depends on lot of factors as per the common logic.
If you have an existing relationship with the bank, the KYC part is skipped and your application status likely to be resulted within 1-2 days, otherwise it is going to take time as banks usually have contracts with third party partners for Physical KYC and verification.
Secondly, depending upon the volume of new application, Like HDFC was flooded with new applications in recent times as the RBI ban was finally lifted.
Then limited period LTF offers - same case, number of applications results in uncertain processing time.
New banks likes IDFC & AU gives instant approval in some cases even for the new applicants with no existing relationship.
Same with co-branded credit cards, mostly Axis-Flipkart & Amazon pay ICICI, I've seen people get approved on the same day of application.
My FD-Backed credit card with SBI took almost 2 weeks of processing time even when I was having savings account since years. SBI is dogs**t

IMO, you just can't never be sure about this waiting/processing time with the applications, as there are a lot of factors banks consider while processing, issuing credit cards to anyone.

It cannot be generalized as the same bank can have different processing times during different time of the year or the card or the customer type.

On google it says can take upto 21 days for hdfc same as kotak i also applied 4 days ago for a kotak pre approved card so im expecting by 20th or something but will probably be earlier i called kotak cc they said 15days and once again then the guy said till this friday xD idk which to believe i would suggest goto a branch and ask if not u can only wait 🙂

In the whole essence IT DEPENDS is what we can see as a general consensus, but at the same time not knowing whether its actually even approved or not we atleast need to know that.

If you don't hear back in 15-21 days, it's safe to assume worst with applications.

Private banks are really quick, especially for co-branded cards, I kid you not my amazon pay, axis freecharge, axis flipkart were delivered to me within 2 days of me opting for them. Funny experience with axis was that pin for card was delivered after almost 25 days of me already using it heavily, so when I got it I was really really confused as to what to think of it.

SBI ..... well lesser you talk is better, BoB is close second, in fact I've applied for BoB card on 30th of April and till today its only showing "your application is under process" really pathetic. In meantime IDFC card and now zomato were approved and I even received IDFC card in 3 days. 🤣
