How is it possible that the SBI rupay credit card is locked for transaction in the app, yet the phonepay upi transaction went through?

But it's not a bank to bank txn, it's credit card to merchant.

Your payment went through on PhonePe because it uses the UPI payment system.

The settings on the SBI card app was purely meant for using your card either through swipe or a digital transaction. There is no relation to the UPI payments and the settings on the app.

I have been transacting through UPI QR on my Tata Neu Plus card while completely switching off the card for all other purposes. (Only today I had to enable online for my Swiggy order for 20% instant discount)

If u temp freezed.(or sleep) it will stop working..

Upi trnx should happen instantly(max 5min).. or else it will get refund to your cc

Lol. Then ots went through... Just a bug in sbi system..

I always face this with sbi account fund transfer.. it said fail, but receiver got it.

That won't go through. You need to have an active account for UPI to work. Essentially you can't stop UPI payments, your bank can by just freezing your account.

SBI allows Account holders to disable UPI transactions through Net Banking (All Banks may have this facility)

This facility may come to credit card holders in future

That won't go through. You need to have an active account for UPI to work. Essentially you can't stop UPI payments, your bank can by just freezing your account.

Bank can disable UPI transactions without freezing account
