Do AMEX cards get closed if not used for a few months?

Had not used Plat Travel card for a few months after reaching milestone (no point) - does there need to be a transaction every few months or so?

Cards are usually active for 1 year after a transaction. As long as you don’t get any sms or email you don’t need to worry.

Make a 100 Rs transaction every 6 months to be on a safe side be it any bank’s card. I do this for cards which hardly yield anything such as ICICI Coral.
