Card closure NOC/NDC query

I had two ICICI credit cards — Platinum and Coral — with a shared credit limit.
I requested the closure of my Coral Credit Card and asked for the following:
a) No Dues Certificate confirming zero outstanding balance
b) Confirmation that the closure has been duly updated in my CIBIL report

However, the bank responded stating:

“We are unable to provide the NOC letter for credit card cancellation at the card level. Once the credit card is cancelled at the account level, only then can we provide the NOC.”

1) Does this mean they will not provide a No Dues Certificate/NOC after closing just the Coral card?
2) Will ICICI provide No due certificate or NOC?
3) Will they provide confirmation once card closure is updated in cibil?

Vasuki already answered all of them. Why close either of them? Both are linked to one account in Cibil.

Coral has yearly charges so I don't want to hold that
Platinum is LTF

For ICICI, NOC is given only when the entire card account is closed, not for individual variants under a shared limit. You can still ask for written confirmation of closure & check CIBIL after 45 days.

As it doesnt have much offers thought of closing it

yes, call them and get refund, it will stop.

I closed ace card like 2 years ago and at that time it has -48rs. balance, till today they keep sending mails but only refund through cheque which I didnt agree.

U can also try but its cheque upto you.

btw, card still closed in cibil, do confirm.

I remember Amazon gave smaller amount cheques of amrikan banks😆
