Can IDFC first bank savings account be closed online?

I have a 25K MAB account with IDFC. I reached out to their customer care for account closure link (since I have IDFC select credit card and looking forward to getting 0 MAB account offer in future) but they said that they have stopped that service since last few months and it can only be done offline with branch visit. Can anyone confirm this if they/any known tried getting their account closed with IDFC through online link recently?

Yes. Now for some reasons closing bank accounts is always offline

No bank allows online closure except few like jio payment bank,nsdl,au....and u won't get zero MAB offer...it's only for people who never had any idfc account....

It's the response I got from pno since I also didn't get zero MAB offer

I had successfully closed my father's account via online link a few months back (seeing comments in this community) and was expecting the same this time. This seems like a hassle now cause branch is far.

Ah, my main motive was getting the zero MAB offer only in future. With that out of the way, I think I may retain the account.
