Can I use Jio JCOW407 Router as a Wireless Extender for Airtel Broadband (GX Titanium 2122A)?

I recently shifted my broadband connection to Airtel, and I'm currently using their provided GX Titanium 2122A router.

I also have an old Jio JCOW407 router and I'm looking to use it as a wireless extender to improve Wi-Fi coverage in my home.

I'm aware that using ISP-provided routers from different providers as extenders can sometimes be tricky. I've tried looking into it, but haven't found a clear solution.

My question to the community is: Is there any way to configure the Jio JCOW407 router to act as a wireless extender with my Airtel GX Titanium 2122A router?

If anyone has successfully done this, or has knowledge about the compatibility/configuration steps for these specific models (or similar scenarios), your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

dont know about these particular routers.. but

extender might improve wifi coverage but not speed and it has to switch manually if changing places.

better try mesh routers. or placing existing router in some where middle help same coverage.

Yes, it is technically possible to use the Jio JCOW407 router as a wireless extender with your Airtel GX Titanium 2122A, but the process can be quite challenging.

These ISP-provided routers are often locked or limited in terms of advanced configuration options, and since they are from different providers, compatibility isn't guaranteed. The Jio JCOW407 supports Wi-Fi 6, which is decent, but users have commonly reported latency and stability issues when using Jio routers outside of their native setup. You may not get seamless performance or reliable connectivity using it as a repeater.

If you're looking for a smoother and more future-proof solution, I would highly recommend investing in a dedicated Wi-Fi 7 router — something like the TP-Link BE550 or BE800 available on Amazon. These routers offer superior range, faster speeds, and much better performance for modern devices. Plus, they support mesh networking, which is ideal for extending coverage across multiple floors or large spaces.

While repurposing old hardware is a good idea, sometimes the time and effort spent on configuration and troubleshooting aren’t worth it — especially when newer, more efficient hardware can make a big difference in your daily internet experience.

Hope this helps!
