Buying electronics from Singapore

Does anyone have an idea about buying electronics viz., Computer parts, camera lens from Singapore? A friend will be visiting soon... Planning to get an SSD and a Camera lens
Are they really cheaper than in India?

If it is for business, it could be ok but for personal use, then there could be warranty issues and I would refrain buying from there.

Also do not forget limited luggage allowance by airlines. If you buy too much, then it could be a pain to get through customs.
