Brand Gift Card Scams

If anyone of your gift card, was unknowingly used or added to another wallet error. Then please comment here.

Also comment, where you have purchased and support team response, if you have complained.

Also the case were, the gift card delivered unknowingly to a random number/email .... due to poor tech/infra by the companies/brand.

On 22nd August 2025, I bought 10,000 inr flipkart gv with a discount of 200 with SBI Cashback Card from flipkart. Later it was turned out to be a nightmare for me.

When my friend tried to redeem, he got "linked to a wallet" error on 27th aug, I realised on 28th aug.

Called Flipkart supprt team via "chat with us" (28th aug), thereafter they said resolution by september 2nd .

checked gv status at woohoo and qwikclever sites
The GV was unused, but linked to another wallet.

Ignored, profile details like mobile number available in qwikcliver site.

Druken flipkart support team closed ticket saying something.

Called on 29th (seeing their reply,) said will get resolution by sept 2nd on sms/email. Closed

Called on 31th ... closed.

Today I checked gv status, it was used partially 510 out 10000, from qwikcliver site, i got order reference, by that reference enquired flopkart support and they given address (I'm a legend Technofinian) and also last 4 digits of mobile number.

Last 4 digits of that order matched with qwikcliver gv statement mobile number (under profile).

Before getting order details.,Called flopkart cs, transferred call to senior, useless person disconnected. so I decided to get details at any cost.

Called him, he said, i got sms and i used. He said, he called flopkart support dont know what they said, he must linked gv to his wallet on 22nd aug as per qwikcliver statement and thereafter he order shampoo and face wash worth of 510.

Note: Its gift order, Only on mail, it should be delivered, but I'm unfortunate in my case.

Before writing thread, I called flipkart support, useless not transferring call to senior and questioning me, how could the gv sms would receive by someone, actually I should, ask right ?

I last patience when pinelabs, said to contact flopkart. I mailed Grievance, ceo, scam gift card ..... simantaneously, before knowing the above story. Will further do ...

flipkart worst support, pinelabs useless support.

If I understand correctly, you purchased a ₹10,000 Flipkart GV on 22nd Aug 2025 using your SBI Cashback Card, but instead of reaching you, it somehow got linked to another person’s wallet.

From what you’ve shared:

  • The GV showed up as “linked to another wallet” even though it was unused.
  • Flipkart support kept closing your tickets without resolution, only giving vague promises of a fix by Sept 2nd.
  • When you checked on QwikCilver/Woohoo, you found that ₹510 was already spent, and with the order reference you even traced the delivery address and last 4 digits of mobile number, which matched the QwikCilver profile details.
  • On contacting the person, he admitted he got the SMS, linked the GV on the same day (22nd Aug), and later used it for a small order (shampoo/face wash).
  • The GV was actually a gift order (email-only delivery), but due to some Flipkart/QwikCilver goof-up, the SMS went to a different person.
So essentially, your ₹10,000 GV was wrongly delivered/linked, partially used by someone else, and despite multiple follow-ups with Flipkart + Pine Labs, there’s been no proper resolution.

Did I get this right? And did Flipkart issue you a refund? Did they give any clarification on why the GV was linked to someone else’s account?
 
Same thing happened with cred app. Jiomart gift card 500/- purchased and used partially . Now unable to resume the remaining balance gv. Cred says the gv should have been used in a single order. Absolutely third class from cred.
