Bill generated for Amex card which is yet to activate

I recently got Amex platinum travel card and is yet to activate. Also, i am not planning to activate. Still the joining fee is postes in statement generation.

What to do? Will i have to pay joining fee?

Do not make transaction, call support and request for cancelation. they'll waive the fee and close the card. no need to pay.

I coudn't get to the call with CS people as i waited more than 15 mins four to five times. Seems like amex cs is fully busy.
