Seriously a TF Ace asking such questions!
Least you could do is define parameter.

Devil's Advocate: Maybe I like golf cards, they are best for me.
Hence ICICI Emeralde make sense even Paid Variant.
Actually I have not analysed all the ICICI cards (except Amazon), hence the question was basically for ICICI.
But since I was asking, I added some other banks also, whose cards I have not fully analysed.

I don't play golf.
I love travelling (economy flights & budget hotels) and eating out; but I already have EazyDiner, which is the best for eating out.

1. Where the joining benefits are far more than the joining fees paid.
2. The returns on spends are the highest (at least 5% after deducting joining fees and other fees / charges)

none from the listed banks to satisfy these two points.

yes first exclusive or reserv now, may satisfy first point but not 2nd.

maybe, how much do you value on?

- lounge
- movie tickets
- hotel offers
- memberships

that can make Yes (FE with subscription), ICICI (Emeralde, Sapphiro) and BOB (Eterna, Snapdeal) cards satisfy both points.

btw, which bank providing far more than the joining fee paid?

Theoretically
Axis Airtel (Needless to say)
Indus Eazydiner (In Case of too much dining)
HDFC Swiggy (MC World Benefits and 10% Swiggy Reliably)
AU Lit (In case of 5% and 10x etc addons)
Fed Scapia (In case of Lounges)

Any bank LTF card :p (for bank offers)

these are after getting card. I'm looking card ask for joining fee and provide far more benefits to compensate that joining fee.

Once we start using cards, several cards like you mentioned will come to the picture. Also, do note OP need from specific bank cards only.

I was replying to you. Need for more info for OP recommendations.

Some examples? Really curious.

Usually it is 1:1.
Max I've seen is Axis Atlas having 1:2.

Ok. We're discussing different things entirely.. :)

My understanding when OP mentioned below point (Correct me if I'm wrong)

1. Where the joining benefits are far more than the joining fees paid.

which means: Pay 500 joining fee, get 3 months amzn prime subscription, 250 swiggy voucher, 1 year gaana subscription etc. here as per above statement joining benefits are far more than the joining fee paid.

another example, pay 70,800 Rs. joining fee and get 1,25,000 MR Points + Taj Epicure + Marriott & Hilton Gold etc. which is far more than the joing fee paid.

This type of scenario in basic to somewhat super-premium cards I'm looking which other card provides benefits far more than the joining fees paid.? Mostly, I saw cards compensate only the fee paid, nothing more in these cards. and based on that Yes FE qualifies because it provides little bit high than fee paid.

----------

Otherwise, if we ignore joining benefits and product features wise, as you mentioned different cards serve different purposes and provide more value for money if user specifically used on those categories or places.

Based on this also none of these banks provide much rewards, you can simply ignore these banks.

RBL/PNB/CanB - do not have any experience.

ICICI - Only for sale offers in stores and online shopping sites, these are never really meant to be used for day-to-day tranactions. Even lounge benefits and movie benefit usually other cards compensate.

YES - Now it seems like they're restructuring and can be obtained >5% with subscriptions. Check Marque latest card, which provides upto 4.5% without any subscription and good joining benefits.

BOB - Normally BOB range between 2%-4% and never got 5% on an average for my spends.

IDFC - Also, regular rewards are under 5%.

Standard Chartered - Upto 4% that too when redeem on cloth vouchers.

Federal - Max I saw 2% on average.

Indus - If I exclude easydiner none of them croses 3%,, but I have other cards to compensate easydiner for my limited dining.

Note: But, for me 3% average is good card for mixed spends. 5% or more can only be possible in some categories only, rest usually reduces that % and leveled around 3%. I'm ok with it. IMO.
