Beat Amazon’s ₹5 Marketplace Fee & Earn Extra Cashback

TF Premier
As you all know, Amazon has quietly slipped in a ₹5 “Marketplace Fee” on almost every order—even for Prime members. For frequent shoppers, these micro-charges pile up.

With fees
Normal credit card purchase with fees 😢

I don't know if this trick has been shared here already, but there’s a smart way to skip the fee completely and boost your savings: pay with Amazon Pay balance.

🚫 How to Avoid the ₹5 Fee

The trick is simple:
  • Pay entirely with Amazon Pay balance (wallet or redeemed voucher) → No marketplace fee ✅
Tested and confirmed: if you use only wallet balance, the extra line for “Marketplace Fee” disappears—the order reflects just the product price.

🛠️ How to Do It

  1. Buy an Amazon voucher for yourself (digital delivery is instant).
  2. Manually redeem the code to your Amazon Pay account.
  3. At checkout, choose Amazon Pay balance for 100% payment.

🎟️ Voucher Types (Choose Right)

  • Amazon Pay Gift Voucher → Adds balance to your wallet; usable on Amazon, bill payments, and partner apps.
  • Amazon Shopping Voucher → Only for Amazon product purchases (not valid on bills or external merchants).

💳 Bonus: Credit Card Cashback

Some credit cards give cashback on voucher purchases at Amazon:
  • SBI Cashback Card → 5%
  • HDFC Millennia Card → 5%
So you’re not just avoiding the ₹5 fee—you’re stacking rewards on top of it.

Don’t let sneaky fees chip away at your savings. Use Amazon Pay balance via vouchers, skip the marketplace fee, and double-dip with credit card rewards!

Edit: Some of you may already know this, but I thought I'll make one post for the benefit of larger audience.

This is known thing. Very well known to those who use AGC more to purchase things on Amazon.
Correct. But I checked with some friends today who are also CC nerds. They didn't know this and were paying the fees 😢 I checked the forum before posting this, there was no such thread already. So I thought of helping out some fellow shoppers 🙏🏻

There is a reason for not sharing such things much here. But anyway I don't want to start any debate similar to what happening in few other threads. Good luck.
