Same issue on my newly opened Easy Access Digital Account, got ₹590 charges reversed by complaining.
First complained to Customer Care and they gave vague answers like only physical debit card will work and then complained to PNO directly, same answer from PNO, raised RBI BO complaint citing unsatisfactory response and issued non working debit card with charges....
No compensation but got ₹590 reversed 🎉.
Same thing happened to my Online rewards debit card and E-debit card when I opened the account newly. I guess it is an Axis thing. Their debit/credit cards take 2-3 days to become active for transactions even after physical delivery.
Tag them on Twitter for faster resolution .
This technical problem occurs sometimes after issuance of new debit/credit card. It will be solved within 1/2 working days
