Atlas CC: Payment gateway deducted additional charges after transaction settled

  1. Made a school fee payment of 35000 using the Atlas CC.
  2. After the payment, got a text confirmation that the transaction was for 35000 only.
  3. Transaction gets settled with an extra charge if 495.6: 35495.6.
Called Axis customer care and they told me that the payment gateway charged me extra. I this normal practice: The transaction going through for 35000 but settling with an extra charge? Can anything be done to recover the extra charge?

It will be written on school payment page usually card extra charges net banking upi free etc. just see the page again. It’s ur wish if u want to pay via card with charges.

I didn't see any charges while paying..like it's normally shown on the IRCTC website. When the transaction happened, I wasn't charged extra. It's only after the transaction settled that I was charged extra. When there are extra charges for using CCs, the extra amount gets added to the transaction amount and you know you are paying extra, isn't it?

Yes it should show first so we can decide. Does the school know about this. Do u think the mcc is correct rental or some other mcc
 
Nothing unusual here in my opinion. Many times, convenience charge gets added after transaction is settled. It must be mentioned somewhere, you will have to find it out.

Same thing happens when you pay advance Tax as well on incometax website

extra charges does show up in final amount and on OTP trnx it should been mentioned so it the gateway issue/may be axis have charged you extra cause check their t&c on education payment mcc then.
