Amex MRCC not working on paytm POS

I have tried making payment on paytm POS machine over medical store and hotel but card transaction is getting declined.

Is there any restriction Paytm POS has with amex?

Error - POS transaction is not permitted on this card.

My friend tried paying restaurant bill via dineout using his HDFC rewards credit card diners club variant and the transactions kept declining

Maybe the merchant doesn’t have that functionality. When you take a POS, they will ask the merchant whether they want Amex too in it, and many say no when they hear the charges for having Amex.

This is quite an irony. Swiggy runs an offer for 10pc discount on DCB cards but then don't work on Swiggy. 🤯
