Yes. From a technical point of, the software and hardware is designed to accept the Card for payment. However, the merchant needs to enable that option from their side. (Also, Amex needs additional step, so many times it's not enabled by default, unless the sales person pushes that to the merchant)As of today 18/02/2023 Amex Card is accepted at every PineLabs and Paytm POS Machine .
Same experience my Native Place which is a tiny city where Restaurants accept Amex via PaytmWent to travel in a Tier 3 city and was so surprised when every merchant accepted Amex.
Then realized all of them had Paytm machines.
And then there are fancy restaurants in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi which don't accept Amex, absolutely hilarious!
