NPCI is planning to launch RuPay credit cards with all credit card issuing banks in the next few years. NPCI currently focusing to get the banks ready, enabled and certified.

You should know RuPay has 3 variants of credit cards -

1) RuPay Classic (Standard/Basic card) - equivalent to Visa/mastercard classic.

2) RuPay Platinum (Premium card) - equivalent to Visa/mastercard Platinum

3) RuPay Select (Super Premium card) - equivalent to Visa Signature and mastercard World.

Now Before start one last and important thing, you guys should know. Banks never discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. What does it mean ?

This means that if your Visa credit card is life time free then the same variant RuPay credit card will also be life time free or if you change your existing life time free Visa card to RuPay then your new RuPay variant card comes by default life time free.

2nd thing, Any offers given by banks are also applicable on your RuPay credit cards too like Axis, HDFC, ICICI, SBI CARD, BOB etc 10% discount offers on Amazon and Flipkart or other e-commerce websites (Ofcourse sometimes newly launch RuPay card is not eligible for e-commerce discount offers but that doesn't mean banks discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. It simply meaning your card is new, bank systems are not updated, wait for few months or complaint to banks they will soon fix it. In fact, newly launch Yes bank Visa & RuPay both credit cards and few months back one person told Axis Magnus Visa Credit card is not working on e-com discount offers). So i hope it's clear. All bank offers are eligible on RuPay credit cards too.

RuPay tests many premium and super premium cards but don't easily issue to customers

HDFC RuPay Millennia, RuPay Regalia, RuPay Freedom NEW credit card etc

Last year September month, HDFC bank launch all this cards on RuPay platform including RuPay Moneyback+ credit card but last month i got to know customers are getting RuPay Moneyback+ credit card.

Yes even PNB, SBI have premium Rupay DCs but I can't figure how I can get that from PNB ...

Both banks issue RuPay Platinum DC through bank branch.

SBI bank apply through card code: "REP" code for RuPay Domestic Platinum debit card, "IRP" code for RuPay-DFS IndianOIL Platinum Global card and "RPJ" code for RuPay JCB Platinum Global debit card.

PNB bank also issue total 3 types of RuPay Platinum DC - RuPay Domestic Platinum, RuPay-DFS International Platinum and RuPay JCB Platinum Global card.

If you want to know PNB credit card experiences then PNB service is worst. Chapter closed. 😂 😂

I know, I have a home loan with them and they keep on reporting delayed payment to credit bureaus even if the EMI got processed through auto debit/SI. So, you can understand how much pissed off I already am with them. 🙂

We can't get more than one BOB CC usually

Yes, Some customers already have 2 BOB CC. Apply any other card variant through BOB website, if you are eligible, you will get another BOB CC.

They are also screwing up your CIBIL along with pathetic services. Good to know so I can avoid these guys more and more.

Can we change the PNB debit card through its netbanking?

I think new debit card apply option available on PNB app and you can also apply through PNB customer care number but by default they will issue you RuPay classic debit card.

Yes. BOB Premier card is RuPay JCB Select Credit card and BOB Easy Card is RuPay JCB Platinum Credit card.

You need to maintain that AMB/AQB to be eligible for that card variant otherwise it won't show up in the available card options in your net banking, neither the request can be processed at the branch.
