Hi,

Those with a tax liability may pay income tax on or before June 15 using their credit card by paying a nominal PG fee of 0.47%.

The tax payment link can be found here https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/e-pay-tax-prelogin/user-details

Select Canara Bank PG

Please note

1. Magnus users can rejoice as one would get regular and milestone reward points on income tax payments.
2. DCB/Infinia users may avoid this as they won't get any reward points. However, the spends will be counted for milestone spends for fee reversal.
3. SCB ultimate users will get reward points.
4. Amex cards can't be used.

There is also an approximate 0.25% of savings account interest you get for making payment after 30 days on an average. So as long as you get this as well as some reward points for making tax payment, it is good. If Axis really stops this, I'll have to go for Standard Chartered Ultimate credit card.

Just paid tax with HDFC Payment Gateway via Axis Magnus without any extra charges. Hopefully, points get credited now and this counts in milestone benefit.

I had also used HDFC gateway before. In your statement it will add charges of around 0.85/0.9% + GST(18%).

Like you, even I delighted. But alas, they won't do it for free.

So Tax payment should accrue points and milestone on Magnus till 1st Sep, right? Which is the best now, Canara or Kotak or HDFC?
Also has anybody used DCB? Does it give points and milestone ?
Everything is pretty much on par now. I will use HDFC going forward. HDFC will show the charges once the payment is settled. But if you want to be sure about the charges, you can use Kotak gateway.
