Made the mistake of applying to 5 different banks for a cc as soon as i got a job 3 years ago. shouldn't have done that. also my first hdfc application got rejected because of address errors(Gave election id with slightly incorrect adress on it) . kyc failed. idfc had approved me a card but never took(should have)
Currently holding - sbi simplyclick - 77k limit(was originally issued 22k limit as a student, got upgraded to 77 given limit upgrade when i had opted for a different card and wanted to close simplyclick)
previously held - amex platinum travel edition with 5 lakh limit(closed because not accepted at half the stores or even online on many sites) used for about one year)
anyways want to get a cc to put wedding spends on and collect points. Thats it. hold a salary account in HDFC. very good standing with amex(Was offered a free upgrade with just 1k per year fees to amex platinum reserve) didnt take. dont want amex as it does not work in most local shops(where wedding shopping would take place). wish India had something equivalent to what chase sapphire is in the us.
Going to close sbi simply click useless card. Amazon gc option is gone. plus mom holds a simplyclick with 5 lakh limit, no use holding same cards in one household.
