Another question on points, do you get any of the gold status benefits when booking with points? It looks like I can get my planned bookings of approx $2000 revenue rate for $1250 by buying 100k points (+40k bonus) under this offer. I was originally planning to transfer the required points from amex but now I'm wondering. Any advise from folks familiar with marriott and bonvoy?
