1% Cashback returns on HDFC Platinum Debit Card

@sun156 I have an axis Bill of 10000 added in hdfc smartpay. But I paid 3000 for it today via Amazon pay for 50rs cashback. If my due date is 9 July, how much money will smartpay deduct using my platinum debit card. Will I get 1% cashback for this transaction (as total bill != Paying amount if it deducts only 7k). Or should I pay the remaining amount also through unipay using VDC. Thanks in adv.

If the bill is stil, not in scheduled section , everything goes smoother and no need to worry
If the bill came in scheduled section, with the bill amount showing 7000 no need to worry , you will receive 70rs CB for OLD PLT DC & 175CB for MIL DC

If the bill is already in scheduled section with the bill amount showing 10000 needed to worry, what happens depends on the bank to bank

1. Some times the bill payment is Failing for some banks due to mismatch in Billing amount
2. some times the total 10000 bill gets paid for some banks , so extra 3000 going

please check now whether the bill is scheduled or not

One extra info though most of you would know this still : When due date falls on first 3-4 days of the month, auto payment is deducted in last days of previous month but cb limit of 750 p.m will be counted as per due date month not previous month.

It's always based on deduction date. However, it's often observed that if we pay (or amount get paid) on last day of a month then cashback counted in the next month in HDFC. Nothing to do with Autopay or due date.

Maybe this is the actual case. But as I said also, Last day payment is definitely considered in next month cb limit. Like you can see this ss. I got cb for both even after exhausting May cb limit. It means I got it for June.View attachment 99899

Yes. That's happening since months. I have noticed this in January.

Now my doubt is what happens if we pay on 30th and 29th of the months.

Btw, cashback for 31st payment may not be always shifted to next month(!), we need many more confirmation to reach to a definite conclusion.

I believe so as my last month transaction rewarded me for this month quota as last month was almost exhausted. Transaction done on 31.05.25

Exactly that's why I started writing about this. From many months, txn done on 31st are being counted in next month.

This doubt I can clear maybe this month end. 29th June auto debit will happen in my case. I will check cb on 30th June and will update here.

Hdfc used to delay cashback posting in the last week of the month. Might be difficult to assertain in such cases. Still worth trying. If you get clarity then please update me as well.

If I get cb for 28th auto payment before 30th then it would mean this month otherwise late cb will definitely mean next month quota used. I am setting a reminder and will share the exact answer this month end.

I set a reminder also specially for this but my CCs due dates are starting from 4th so auto debit date is 30th June minimum but to answer the query, 29th June debit would be required. I don't know how in April, it got deducted on 29th.
Now, I have to wait for another couple of months or maybe any other member can answer this.
