1% Cashback returns on HDFC Platinum Debit Card

You can pay SBI cashback credit card bill using this method provided you made purchases in the current cycle greater than the cashback earned in the previous cycle

Your problem is different. Has your payment deducted and then failed?
No not deducted but failed. I guess that day axis had some issues which I can confirm from many posts. I was unlucky that in my case it failed completely whereas all others atleast successful but not credited which will be happening for sure. I have also seen in some previous posts that when on same day 2 bills are scheduled to pay then also they got failure.

Amount credited to CC (Airtel & MyZone) for transaction done on 1st May. No SMS confirmation received but fully paid showing in app. Payment date is showing as 1-May.

Not instantly bro
In app showing approx after 48 hours but the credit date is same
Problem is with Axis and it happens many a times and also when txn is made in non-working hours. Even those banks who update Available credit limit instantly actually process the txn in statement next day or T+2 days. If at xn is successful and do not reflect in T+2 days in your CC then it is a problem. That's why I asked people here to wait till 3 days (T+2). Here T is transaction day.

It works. My last two bills were successfully paid in the same way
If I understand you correctly. You mean if my bill is 10000 and I got 2000 cashback and I spend in new cycle more than 2000 (say 3000) thus my total outstanding is 11000 but this smartpay need to pay last billed amount that is 10000 and this will work?
if this scenario is correct then I am doing this since many months for my Cashback card (My total outstanding always remained more than last billed amount), just that this time I used HDFC SmartPay instead of SBI unipay and bill failed.

You will be paying TAD only. Just make sure your outstanding amount is greater than TAD on the scheduled date.
You are right. Although I am not using Smartpay but still sharing how to get it done for SBI Cashback card.

May or may not work at all. (the below thing)

Lets simplify first for other people here on why it fails?

Suppose your SBI Cashback card bill generated on 03-May-2025 with amount Rs.50000.

Your cashback for this statement was Rs.2500 (assuming all this 50K txns were online and had 5% cashback applicable).

Now on 4th SBI will credit Rs.2500. Your total o/s or bill due now stands at Rs.47500 (50000-2500).

SBI allows maximum 5% extra on outstanding due: Rs.47500 + 5% = Rs.49875. Now Smartpay will have 50K but you can not pay more than 49875 now. Due to this smartpay txn will fail.

How to get rid of this?

Before smartpay date arrives for auto-payment like if due date is 23-05-2025 then smartpay will trigger on 19-05-2025. Before this do txn of Rs.125 or more more depending on what due left you have. Smartpay won't fail now.

Current o/s on SBI Cashback card should be equal or greater than what smartpay bill value has.

Correct for SBI.

Note to others: Please do not assume this for every bank. For example, HDFC does not follow this, and people have complained to RBI for not following guidelines, yet RBI rejected it.

I believe Axis also considers refunds/cashback as a payment towards CC bill.
