I feel will be able to reach the spend limit from online shopping. If not should I try LTF or closure with SBI? Anyhow the annual fee is recovered easily. So closure is not worth it anymore.

The trick is to keep on trying till you get connected to the right agent. Don't fight the agent, if he says can't be converted say thank you and call again.
