DCB is a good card even if you pay joining fee. If u use smartbuy properly, u can recover fees easily and of course it has milestone benefit. Do not take i repeat do not take lower variant cards, its a nightmare to upgrade it. HDFC does no give upgrades easily. If u dont want to take DCB now...

If you meet 8L spends may be you can call them and request for fee waiver. They should mostly accept based on your relationship. To answer your question, I think they should be counted unless they are tagged as rent or wallet

I agree, like i have mentioned multiple times on this forum HDFC does not care for old customers. There focus is only NTB. I had been trying to upgrade DCP to DCB from past 7 months with no luck. Every time it's a different thing, latest is not enough spends in 6 months (I had about 4L spends)...

True, HDFC will not upgrade the card so easily. They only want NTB customers, they give a damn about old customers. I am planning to move my salary someplace else and convert account to basic account as this is my oldest account and linked to all like PF etc.
