I didn't said that, I said even the biggest billionaires in this nation have to pay their "fair" share to get legit contracts where they'd absolutely win on merit - that is clearly wrong, but also the cost of doing business in India. Now tbf that's the case almost everywhere in the world, including US or Europe although the quantum(%) of bribes ought to be much smaller.
There is big difference in how bribe operates in other countries & in india. In india paying bribe doesn't guarantee smooth approval. This is the reason many foreign companies don't want to operate in india, especially in those sectors which requires a lot of licensing. Even today most hotels are owned by politicians ( either directly or indirectly).

Here anyone who gains slightest power (or even their gate keepers) take bribe as birth right.

The more important point was that they have an outsized influence & reach which generally makes it very hard to compete with them directly, in business or other places where policy is defined by the state. Basically "jiski lathi uski" which should not happen as often as it does in this day & age.

This " outsize influence & reach" is a good thing. It means the system is being more efficient. When a person or a group of persons have a good track record , they are( & should be) favoured.

Not only govt , or financier do it, retail investors & general customers do it too. All fmcg /cd companies or even local restaurant takes advantage of it. Why blame those who are doing it most efficiently?

An experienced extrovert with big useful network ,will always get more clients/jobs than fresh introvert with no practical nw no matter how much more competent the introvert is.

Yeah let's not go there. That guy should've retired immediately after 2015 WC, his overstay probably cost us 2 ICC trophies although Kohli being a knucklehead didn't help either!
We can agree to disagree to that part. But no one can deny the fact that these rich celebrity directly pay a lot of tax in absolute terms. And indirect contribution is way too much.
At some point in absolute tax paid makes % tax irrelevant. Socialism works only in econonomical advanced country, with low standard deviation in income distribution. It will never work where beneficiaries outnumber benefactor by factor of 1000s.

Let's take the example of super bike/car. In a world with no tax, cost of ownership would have been less than 10% of practical cost of ownership. Of course we need to pay for road we use( but most roads are privately financed and operated anyway) . We also need to consider that if tax wouldn't so high there wont be any technology sharing( which anyway isn't), additional jobs creation ( & additional income tax for govt ). It is also duty of well off people to help out fellow countrymen. But question is by how much. By paying more than 10times? Definitely not.

these are the same type of ppl who would happily spend thousands for a movie ticket+popcorn+Pepsi+other snacks...and they crib when rickshaw fares increase by 2-3 rs....don't forget they have their own cars/bikes...so they're probably not gonna use rickshaw for more than once or twice a month...stock market is gambling spl fno..so that should be taxed..but cash market I personally think that STT should be reduced to half...since those who treat their capital gains as capital gains only they pay income tax on the STT as well...
Paying government powered POSTAL LIFE INSURANCE payment , penalty payments attract gst... also they removed life insurance from tds

If you go for doing a speed post , registered letter also attract gst... which all three were at zero taxes...

In addition they fined zomato swiggy for 750 cr penalty only for deliveries... nlw soon they start charging gst on delivery charges , gst on food...

Calculate once how much u re paying to govt when ur income has pure white n yes income tax direct deduction for also there like us government servants...

Where india is going just think...

We aren't tax paying society nor finance literate .
So indirect way of taxation is only way to function gov

Number of freebie ( food etc ) gov spend on most poor is burden + you have to do development
Psu are mostly loss making thing ..which recently changed still BSNL Is loss making when jio just killed the internet service.

Lately millnial started playing taxes because they got hight paying jobs and it is only gonna increase.

For a developing society/ country u can make direct tax of 40-50 % as in Nordic country ( keep in mind those are small and resource rich) .

Yes there should be.more transparent system on how much tax .
But it's people job to ask the gov question like this in masses not just in a summit during elections.

1) Brokerage is separate from taxes. Based on the killing brokers are making by feeding retail traders to algorithmic and large institutional traders, there's actually a case to be made for a tax on brokerage purely to rehabilitate all those idiots who are trading away their future in FnO. Also, someone needs to ask the dude if he's also building the roads/trains he and his employees travel on to come to work, the water pipelines he washes and drinks from, the sewage lines he dumps his waste into, and all the other infrastructure that basically enable him to come to the point where he can ask such stupid questions.

2) If 11% taxes on the price of a house in Mumbai is too expensive for him, then he should what most people who want to buy a house do: buy a house where the cost + 11% taxes is not too expensive for him. Let's not forget that these guys who usually ask what are you doing for the "common man" are more often those with multiple houses pulling in nice amounts in tax exemptions. You can sort of see that from how he really wants to be able to pay in "cash" to buy his house.

There's a category of people who will complain about the potholes on their roads and the taxes they have to pay and also participate in the corruption that creates that situation. And of course, folks like that really think that asking such things to a female minister will be much more easy (till they find the I-T dept. knocking on their door :))
But 11% can applied if a person buys from 2nd time and can reduce for first time buyers I feel

The important question is why such considerations should be applied in the first place. A government has the right to impose taxes on business/commercial activity because its spending on physical infrastructure, law and order, and defense allow a business environment to exist. In fact, one could even say that a government that refuses to do this is being irresponsible and not discharging its duties. In India, for example, you often see states announcing populist reductions in stamp duty rates and property tax waivers apparently to benefit the common man (more often because someone in the government or a moneybag supporting the government is going to benefit from it), but what they will not say is that all of this unclaimed revenue is going to appear as reduced spending on areas like health and education, which should not be for-profit, or as increased state debt passed on to a future government and ultimately the people to handle.

It is to an extent when you understand the high rate of taxes in many ways is to compensate for tax dodgers, this also includes the big billionaires & corporate houses but let's stick to the smaller fish for a sec. Your nearby kirana wala deals almost exclusively in case, or UPI, I doubt he reports his sales or earnings (i.e. profit) honestly & I know for a fact that he doesn't give me an invoice.

Then you see those thousands of small traders or craftsmen doing similar stuff, again let's leave the bigger tax dodgers like Doctors aside. So when at least half of the pop has no interest in reporting or paying taxes honestly then to cover govt spending taxes will have to naturally rise. This affects those disproportionately who are "honest" tax payers especially the salaried class. But even there you don't report every "income" all the time. Lastly the biggest issues IMO are leakages through corruption, bribery etc. Till we have a civil or criminal justice system that fines the corrupt into actual bankruptcy or gets them jail time the money will continue to accumulate at the very top, at an even faster rate. It's just a hope but maybe things will change in our lifetimes!
You forgot the judiciary they dont even report their income all their income 99 percent is cash. Very few advocates or lawyers judges report rest of them aee entitled they dont report their income but they will have two three haus and agriculture land. These guys are biggest crooks in bharath.

These organizations need to be fined much. they treat their employees horribly. To avoid tax & all legal requirements, they claim their employees are "partners "/"agents".
Why shouldn't there be gst on food & even delivery charges? Wasn't there tax earlier?

No wonder these organization are called unicorn. Cuz just like unicorn, their profitability is fictional. They just burn through investors money. Most of these tech start ups & more importantly the valuation nexus needs to be put behind bars. ( I personally know these people, they very well know what they are doing to screw Indian investors)

People gets triggered when they see or hear the word gst. Most of these tax were always there. Some were lesser, some were higher than current rates. Some times they were hid under processing charge or cess.

Of course if you buy product or avail a service, youll pay tax.
