Because they rebranded this membership and also giving away YT premium free for one year worth ₹1499 every year as long as you continue to be a black member..
Basically all FK benefits are notionally free if you generally take YT premium

I have YT premium family... So this seems expensive.

I took FK VIP but since last 2 months the experience has been trash...

Placed 2 grocery orders they were undelivered and cancelled post 10-12 days.

Ordered kitchen appliance in July sale it was undelivered for over a week and then cancelled and I was told "re-order we'll deliver it", and then I ordered the same item again in August sale and the same incident was repeated...

Very unfortunate to hear your bad experiences with FK..
But as I said before I had wonderful experience over the last 8 years or so and saved several tens of thousands in real savings and this free YT premium subscription along with black is very good deal for whom FK has good service in their local area...

I had a similar experience for around 5+ years but this recent incidents have forced me into thinking should I order ahead. Recently again a grocery order was delayed. I had to ultimately cancel it coz it was delayed and got a super deal on Instamart...

I bought VIP when it was launched itself and was able to redeem a lot of SC as well ngl but the recent orders weren't fulfilled as well as no proper reasoning was given for the order cancellation...

Yeah, that's what I always read it here in this forum...
For me, I had placed more than 500 orders worth lakhs of rupees in the last 8 years or so and never faced any major issue..
May be a small issue here and there that i can't even remember now...
But what I hear from majority of people here is just opposite to my experience...

What I think is happening here:
Only people who had bad experiences are speaking up.. the people who had good experience are staying silent...
That's why I spoke about my positive experience.

We share similar experiences and must absolutely share it. I've been shopping on Flipkart from the time it only sold books. I think this was ~ 2008.

It may have been a rare ocassion that I've had a bad experience dealing with the customer service because it's just incompetent people.

Now, with all the regulatory changes, there's third-party sellers on these platforms and then you see people bashing the platform when the fact is that they bought from a third-party seller that's at fault. In certain product categories, the problems are industry wide.

The other part where there's the warehouse and the logistics that are bad partners.

What I have seen is reporting orders as per their flaws works in overall service provision (that’s what has been my experience across Flipkart and Bigbasket, might be applicable for other apps as well of course). Initially some items used to get out of stock by delivery however once I started making complaints then it improved a lot nowadays hardly gets anything out of stock. While I agree it simply might be optimization of supply chain basis consumer feedback the very pace of improvement is nice. Every company follows metrics and deviations are usually taken seriously by almost all cash burning quick commerce startups.
