Looking for 1.5T AC recommendations

kiwi195

TF Premier
Planning on getting a 1.5 ton AC. I visited Reliance digital and Croma today to check out available options. Following are the brands recommended:
1) Haier
2) Voltas
3) Blue star
4) Daikin
5) Hitachi
I know General and Mitsubishi are better than these but not going towards them because of pricing and tentatively higher repair costs.
The salesmen were pushing Haier way too much compared to other brands and kept explaining its features, but I feel they have higher commission/margin on this brand.
For LG and Samsung they mentioned sales aren't that high, and these brands are better for other applicanes. I myself have not seen too many LG and Samsung ACs.
Wish to know experiences and recommendations from fellow TF members, your inputs are appreciated.

tho i would be suggesting to buy latest 2025 or 2024 models not below them
a pure 5 star ofc
copper
realme (haven't tried personally read review)

@Anupama_Jha choice

With LG there is a practical problem. The remote doesn't come with back-lit LEDs. At night it'll ruin your sleep as you'll have to grab torch and then operate remote. Just this one problem which bugs me. Otherwise the quality of machine is top notch and it is super silent too.

True that, experienced this just a few days ago. The machine was quick to chill but the remote thing bugged me a lot

Been reading a lot of positive comments for Daikin and Hitachi online
I have heard good things about Daikin, no personal experience though. And don't go with Hitachi please, I have seen numerous Hitachi machine giving out problems after some time in the neighborhood. Literally every Hitachi machine in the neighborhood, have had problems.

Can go with carrier, it's reliable. We are using it since a decade and never had any kind of issues. Just monthly filter cleaning, and it's still running without any hiccups.

Among the brands you mentioned, Daikin and Hitachi stand out for reliability, cooling efficiency, and durability—especially in their inverter models. These two are generally safer bets if you’re looking for long-term performance without frequent headaches. Blue Star and Voltas are solid too, especially if you’re aiming for something budget-friendly with decent local service coverage. Haier pushes hard on marketing—probably because higher dealer margins are at play—but its long-term reliability just doesn’t match up to Daikin or Hitachi. LG and Samsung might not be top dogs in the AC market, but their inverter tech and smart features can hold their own.

And here’s the practical angle: if you ever run into issues, appliance repair is going to be far simpler with brands like Daikin or Hitachi because parts are easier to source and service networks are stronger. That can save you a ton of hassle down the line.

no yearly service?
No. After the first 3 free service in first year, didn't take any. All the do in the name of service is cleaning. So, I do the cleaning myself.

There is no need for yearly service and all if the installation is done correctly. There shouldn't be any gas leakage. Just think of refrigerator at your home, how much service and gas topup it needs? AC is also similar to refrigerator but more powerful. The gas is in a closed loop. Periodic dust cleaning is all it needs.
