Bonus MR points need to be manually converted into regular MR points

This is one weird rule with Amex. The milestone MR points are not automatically converted into regular MR points. You need to either chat or call customer care for those 40k MR points.

is everyone knows about this?
Strangely, I only learned about this Y'day via one of the CC blogs, despite the fact that I have been using the travel card since 2017.
Immediately i spoke to CC, and got 22500*2+15000 = 60000 points

if you dont know, talk to CC ASAP and get the points

Yes I mentioned it in one of my replies to plat travel card the same
Unless we call they won’t credit bonus or milestone points in plat travel card

This sounds stupid...So we need to do spends and call to get points..Then what they are doing the so called customer support?.
Did everybody needs to track their points?

Also, is this applies to call cards or only platinum cards?.

Only platinum travel card and only milestone bonus points not regular rewards

Agree it's there in their terms.But why? .Will their system is not smart enough to handle this issue..But weird 😅

Call to CC, you may get few more points in your bag.

Product design team made a requirement like this not sure what’s the reason behind it
Since it’s a travel card they don’t want it to be misused by travel agents I think but not sure how they validate it
