While this benefit is available on some premium card following are some common questions a new entrant to premium credit cards may have:
  • While T&C say the service is complementary - does one have to pay anything additional?
  • How will it be any different when compared to booking flights, hotels, restaurants, events on your own?
  • When should one decide to engage with a concierge?
  • Should a value be put towards a concierge service when picking a card?
  • Any unique experiences when availing concierge was better or paid off well?

Except for Amex Plat Charge card, i don't think any other concierge service is worth their salt, most of them are just namesake

- You have to pay for the services you're taking (eg. If you want flowers delivered to your friend urgently, they'll charge you for handsomely for that)

- It's usually either same price or costlier compared to travel aggregators or event booking platforms, not less

- If you're into lifestyle where you're too busy to make your own reservations, these guys are helpfull

- Unless you're that busy that you'll be making a lot of reservations through them, you can't really put a price tag on it

- reservations at usually busy resturents and clubs are possible through concierge, and you might get better treatment because of the card you hold, they know you're loaded
Also i think Amex upgrades Etihad business class bookings to first class if you make reservation through thier platinum travel desk(this is an old info, not sure about current status of this offer)

Bottomline is concierge are heavily used by people who are too busy to make their on bookings
For normal folks it can get you into busy resturents and exclusive events

No extra service for Regalia / Infinia concierge services.
Helpful when sometimes smartbuy website giving problems to book flights.
Sometimes I just find the flight I want and tell them on phone. They book everything including redemption of points.
No extra fees - same as online smartbuy
Haven't used concierge for anything other than flight booking.
So you need to give them your HDFC Infinia card number, expiry, CVV and OTP?

Amex does not do that anymore. I had checked this summer while booking business class tickets on Etihad for Europe.

Yes, the concierge is complimentary which means you don’t pay for asking but you still pay for what you book. It's like having a free personal secretary who makes all your reservations but doesn’t pay the bill.

It’s different from doing it yourself because they have connections. Want a table at that fully booked restaurant on Valentine’s Day or last-minute concert tickets? They just might pull it off while you sip coffee and act cool.

Use the concierge when you're busy, lazy, clueless or feeling like royalty. It shines during travel, anniversaries, or when you forgot to plan something important and need to recover fast.

Does it add value? If you're the type who actually uses the help and likes skipping queues, then yes. If you enjoy hunting flight deals at 2 am, maybe not.

Some folks have used it to get same-day delivery of rare cakes, last-minute luxury hotel upgrades or even help in foreign cities. It’s basically a fixer who’s polite and sounds great on the phone.

So go ahead, ask them for help. The worst they’ll say is no. The best? You feel like a VIP without doing much at all.

Concierge won’t ask for your full card info, OTP, or CVV. Typical verification request is your name and either first nine plus last four digits of your card—just enough to prove you’re legit. If they need you to pay, they’ll send a secure link so you don’t have to speak numbers out loud.

The value you get beats booking solo—think snagging that last-minute flight redemption, sorting out a hotel when you're stuck on the road, or pulling off a fancy restaurant reservation you forgot.

Use the concierge when you're pressed for time, stuck in weird time zones, or just want someone reliable doing the heavy lifting. It’s part of the premium card package, so include that convenience in your decision-making.

People have reported real wins—from quick flight bookings when SmartBuy glitches to painless hotel arrangements in a pinch. That level of service can genuinely level up your lifestyle.
