Banks denying 2000₹ note without Pan Card

I visited idfc first bank for depositing 1 note of 2000 but the bank employee said I need a Xerox copy of my pan card to be submitted to bank as a proof of identity and this Is compulsory. I hold a full kyc account with them still they need my pan card?
RBI guidelines state that any deposit of less than 50k will not require any kind of proof..😅

No. First raise a general query with the bank, escalate it to NO, then to PNO and at last to RBI ombudsman.

And put all the dates while filing the complaint more than 30 days ago

I did it with amex regarding card tokenisation problem I had.
Amex ombudsman team called me within 2 days.
RBI just sends the complaint on a urgent basis to internal ombudsman team

Pls go to bank again if they again ask Proof than demand account closure form.
