Is it better to open locker in private or psu bank
I have
Pnb
Hdfc
Indusind

I always insist and believe, fds and lockers should be in nationalised banks and icici hdfc banks in case of private banks due to financial safety and security

Hdfc would be good to go.... You will get 25% discount on the locker as long as your account is in the Classic Program.

Even Indusind gives upto 50% (mentioned on their website... but I think it's only for first year).

you might consider a few factors like which bank branch is closer, hdfc or indus and their overall service at the branch.
I personally would go with Hdfc in this Case

I have home branch within 3km radius but Indusind is 8km. Thinking to consider HDFC.

Now, I bought a good godrej almirah with steel locker.

( do check the prices in and around in other branches. They sometimes vary depending on the branch even for the same location)

If you have a Savings Max account in Hdfc, you can get upto 50% off on locker for the first year.
Try negotiating for Classic Banking Program, some branches are not tht strict with Classic eligibility. You can get 25% off on locker as long as you are under the Classic Banking Program.

SBI, BOB, Canara, UBI, PNB, ICICI, Federal, SIB - these banks had free lockers when I last enquired with.
HDFC - No.
