New ICICI MakeMyTrip card on Mastercard and Rupay network Launched (Old Cards Discontinued)

ICICI launched new MakeMyTrip credit card , old visa variants discontinued.
Free 1 international lounge access via priority pass, and 8 domestic lounge per year .
0.99% forex charges but 1% mycash on return make net 0% markup approx.

Unnecessarily I had applied for newly launched MMT ICICI Cards on 10th March 2024, because I was feeling bored : 😂

They conducted a physical office verification on March 12th, which was successful. But got declined in the evening same day.

Out of the box yesterday the application went into process again, and the card got approved minutes later!

So on Reddit and in WhatsApp groups, I saw many people claim that this new ICICI MMT card (both MC and RuPay variants) DO NOT WORK for instant discounts in sales/offers. IS THAT TRUE? Then that's a shocker and makes this card even more useless
If it's not true, I will go and beat the Reddit person who said and sue him 😆
I know the old ICICI MMT Platinum and Signature cards worked just fine on discounts, but not sure about this new one

Hi all, I was uninstalling some unwanted apps in my phone and just thought of opening MMT before deleting.
That time I saw a popup that they are offering this ICICI MMT card as first year free, 0 joining fees. I am thinking of applying just for MMT black gold membership.
But my question is - I have seen some people complaining that ICICI charged fees even though it was mentioned FYF. How to avoid this problem?

And when do they charge fees on this card 2nd year? Is it after 12 months? So that I can close it after 10-11 months.

Before 12 month of card opening... Closed the card to avoid renewal charges

My first statement was generated on 4th of this month. And received 490 MMT points for 49000 spents.
